Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

Curator's note

Batman is a character created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, first appearing in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. Known as a wealthy Gotham City vigilante without superhuman powers, he relies on detective skills, physical training and technology. The Dark Knight Returns is a 1986 miniseries written and drawn by Frank Miller, depicting an aged Bruce Wayne returning to crimefighting after a decade in retirement. This 1/4 scale Sideshow Collectibles statue draws on that version of the character, which is notable for its heavier, more imposing build compared with other interpretations.
